I am beginning a mentorship program where I will help a young woman from another country to improve her writing and strengthen her voice. I am myself in the midst of massive change. My older son has graduated high school and will go to college far from our home. I am contemplating separating from the job I have held for seven years. I will turn 50 this year.
As I gaze into the road ahead, the question arises, why am I here.
To heal the world, comes the answer. Tikun olam.
I wonder how is this possible, since I am only one woman strong. Then I remember we are the broken pieces of the world to be healed. And we are the healers.
